AGEP is a program sponsored by the National Science Foundation whose goal it is to significantly increase the number of African American, Hispanic, and Native American students earning PhDs in the physical and life sciences, math, and engineering and to foster their interest in and commitment to an academic career.

The 2008 UCSF AGEP POSTDOC BOOTCAMP will be held on JUNE 23-24
Do you know an advanced graduate student from a historically underrepresented population who might be interested in doing a Posdoc at UCSF? Nominate one to three students from your university for the UCSF AGEP POSTDOC BOOTCAMP! Participants will learn everything there is to know about the postdoc experience.

POSTDOC BOOTCAMP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Student must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and a member of an underrepresented racial/ethnic group (e.g., African American, Hispanic/Latino/ Chicano, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Alaskan Native, etc) or other historically underrepresented population.
- Student must be an advanced doctoral student in the life sciences, within 1-2 years of graduation.
- Student should be interested in applying for a postdoctoral position at UCSF.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
- Students must be nominated by a faculty member OR an AGEP Program Director/Coordinator.
- A nomination form is available from julia.clark@ucsf.edu
- Student should submit a short paragraph about their current research or possible future research as a Postdoc (can be sent as a separate attachment when emailing the nomination form).
All student expenses are paid: travel to, from, and within San Francisco, as well as all food and lodging.
