High School Medicine & Healthcare Conference

Medicine & Healthcare Conference: A unique summer program held by UCSF and LeadAmerica for high-achieving high school students.

UCSF and LeadAmerica have collaborated to offer high school students the opportunity to experience firsthand what it’s like to attend and succeed at a world-class medical school. The conference will offer high school students a chance to examine the nearly limitless career possibilities in the field of healthcare. Students will assume a healthcare professional’s duties, perform clinical exams and realize the importance of treating the patient, not the illness. They will also diagnose a patient, participate in labs, patient simulations and other hands-on activities to gain a close-up view of what it's like to attend medical school.

Students will have the opportunity to experience the best of two top universities at one conference. While attending this conference, students will live on campus at the dynamic University of California, Berkeley just across the Bay and enjoy the privileges of an active college student. Attendance at the Medicine & Healthcare Conference can help high school students stand out on their college application and help college admissions officers identify them as high-potential candidates. They can also develop essential leadership skills that will last a lifetime.

All questions should be directed to LeadAmerica, the administrator of the program. For more information or to enroll, visit LeadAmerica's website or call an Admissions Counselor at (866) 394-5323.
